POSTDOC: SCIENCE, TECH, & SOCIETY

I am a trained philosopher currently working as a postdoctoral teaching scholar at North Carolina State University in Science, Technology, and Society (STS). There, I am a team member in the NeuroComputational Ethics Research Group and affiliated with the Center for AI in Society and Ethics

Under the direction of Dr. Veljko Dubljević, I teach a variety of courses and conduct research on embedding AI in society ethically. My work focuses on smart cities, the ethics of emerging technologies, and the relationships between technology, society, and the environment.

Broadly, I aim to use the theoretical tools of the field of philosophy to influence public policy on important issues. My areas of specialization include: social ontology and epistemology, social-political philosophy, and philosophy of mind. I’m also interested in the governance and management of commons and common-pool resources, especially knowledge commons and urban commons.

I have skill and experience in research and writing, editing/publishing, and communicating academic language to public audiences (including teaching undergraduates).
